At Lake Shipp we believe that children are a gift from the Lord... (Psalm 127:3). The purpose of our children’s ministry here at Lake Shipp is to come alongside parents as they disciple their children. Whenever we offer programs for infants and children there is always a check-in/check-out system in place for the safety and well being of your child. When you arrive, one of our friendly volunteers will be happy to assist you with the check-in process.
We offer Sunday morning Community Groups and childcare at 9:30 a.m. for all age groups. Infants up to 2 years old can stay in their class through the church service. All other children join their parents in the worship service. This gives an opportunity for the family to have time together during worship. During the service we offer a “kids time” with a short devotional just for them. After this time children 3 years old through kindergarten can exit the service and be a part of a class offered just for them. We encourage parents to use the kindergarten year to begin transitioning their children into the entire service time.
On Wednesday evenings we offer KidConnect for children 3yrs-5th grade. There is also nursery provided for any parents who are helping with KidConnect or involved in other classes that are offered.
Lake Shipp has a very strong youth group. We provide Community Groups for youth on Sunday mornings at 9:30a.m. prior to the worship service. We also offer a youth group meeting on Wednesday nights specifically geared toward the youth. The youth group is very active and has other trips and outings throughout the year.
We value all generations at Lake Shipp. We also find value in one generation learning from another. Therefore, many times we offer programs that involve multi-generational participation. However, we also celebrate the uniqueness of each stage of life and on Sunday mornings most of our Community Groups are designed around age groups or “stage of life” groups. We recognize that “young adults” is a very broad stroke. From those that have just finished high school or those that are getting married and starting families to everyone in between – there is a place for you.

In addition to providing multiple community group options on Sunday mornings at 9:30a.m. our Anchor’s ministry is a very active group that provides opportunities for fellowship on a monthly basis. The Anchor’s fellowship time is always open to anyone who would like to join them and you are guaranteed to have a good time.
